About Roel Vanstiphout
Roel Vanstiphout was born in Genk, Belgium on the 10th of November 1992. Right off the bat, he realised that the only way to cope with growing up in this complicated world and the educational systems it provided, was to find an output for his imaginative mind. Through the years, he pursued a multitude of creative art forms, ranging from drawing, painting, animating, to music. The only subject that would continually interest him, was the very last one.

He enrolled in secondary art school at the age of 14, where he focused on graphic and industrial design. Not content or pleased with this line of work, he kept looking for a good skill. This led him to the art of translation, majoring in English and Dutch, when he started at university in 2012. Studying in a different city opened a whole new world for him: gone were the contraptions of his safe haven at home.
In 2016, after four years of studying, and still not quite content with the route his professional life had taken until that point, he enrolled in the conservatory of Ghent, where he was to study Music Composition under Dirk Brossé. The years at the conservatory proved to be most transitionally significant to him: in five years, he transformed from a novice composer into graduate of music composition.
He is particularly interested in the cognitive and intellectual processes that music can entail, music history and the colours of the orchestra. His output consists of orchestral music, film music, ensemble music, and music for voice and accompaniment. His love for the theatrical arts make him a great admirer of the musical genre, as well as classical Hollywood film scoring.
He is adept at making orchestral mock-ups and can provide high-quality virtually orchestrated pieces. But he is also experienced in music writing for various ensembles for live performances.
